Colour: Purple Red
Nose: Mulberry, plum and dried herbs, sage, oregano, and an almost white pepper / game character.
Palate: Palate is rich, full, and unique to Graciano. Often blended in Spain, but beautiful on it's own.
Winemaking: The 2023 fruit was handpicked in pristine condition. The fruit was chilled, and the whole bunch was pressed to allow gentle pressing. The juice was transferred directly into French oak barrels and temperature-controlled to ensure a slow fermentation process with natural (wild) yeasts. This allowed for the development of complex flavours and textural weight. Post-fermentation, the lees were stirred gently once a week until the balance between oak, lees, and fruit characters was achieved.
Food Pairing: Perfectly paired with rich, hearty dishes such as Moroccan tagine or Osso Bucco. It is also a great match for strong cheeses such as blue or gorgonzola.
Vintage Notes: The 2023 vintage had hot and dry conditions for the summer, which continued well into the autumn. Due to the perfect slow-ripening pattern, both red and white grape varieties showed intense colour, aroma, and concentrated flavours while achieving perfect tannin ripeness.
