When we discovered Mount View, our little piece of the Hunter Valley, it was home. We uncovered soils and a micro-climate here that were unique for the region. This would help us create wine styles and flavours that were distinctively ours and would be hard to beat. Since then, it’s always been about embracing every aspect of growing, making and enjoying quality wine. The wines we create are a combination of hard work, rich soil and flavour combinations that are worth savouring.
COLOUR
Brilliant pale straw colour with distinct highlights of green to the edges and a watery hue.
NOSE
Pronounced spicy pear and Jonathan apple aromas are trailed by hints of honeysuckle, lemon butter and cinnamon
PALATE
Lush and rich, showcasing ripe apricot and peach aromas with a hint of gingerbread spice. Nicely rounded finish with balanced acidity and a long richly textured aftertaste.
WINE MAKING
The grapes were harvested and de-stemmed and chilled on arrival to the winery. The juice was pressed off skins to stainless steel and allowed to settle. The clear juice was racked off and fermented with wild yeast to develop complex fruit characters.
FOOD PAIRING
Pairs exceptionally well with white fish and meats as well as leafy green herbs. Try it with fish tacos. Meat Pairing: Lighter meats, fish, and seafood sing with Albariño. Try it with ceviche, seafood risotto, oysters, mussels, and clams.
